What is the length of my vacation? Four
weeks each year which can be broken into 2 week periods or 1 month
during year one. During years two and three, vacation can also
be taken in 1 week intervals. Also, Children's Hospital
enables each second- and third-year resident to attend one educational
conference each year. 3.
How often am I on call? During
year one, call is every fourth night. 4.
Is book money available to me? Yes.
Residents receive a book allowance, the amount dependent on year of
program. 5.
Is there compensation for meals when I am at the hospital? Meal
allowances are provided for residents on night call. 6.
Is health care insurance provided? Yes.
Medical and dental insurance coverage are provided at no cost for
residents, spouses, and children. Short and long-term disability
coverage, life insurance coverage and AD&D insurance are also
provided without cost to the residents. 7.
